Had a great stay over the weekend for a wedding, breakfast was great too and really nice hotel for a wedding. Parking was a little bit difficult as when we got to the hotel and we couldn’t park unless we used the 2 hour parking outside from the hotel however eventually we got a space once the previous nights party was leaving .
Love this hotel... Position is fantastic for the centre of Darlington - with some lovely restaurants and bars close by. Great walks around the river if you need some fresh air. Hotel inside is decorated really stylishly comfy couches and chairs to chill in whilst catching up with friends or just relaxing - we were lucky that the weather was beautiful so got to chill in the wonderful gardens with a cheeky drink or two. Drinks are good and at a price you would expect to pay... The breakfast is first class and on a buffet style. We didn't eat other meals this time but the food is top notch from the menu also Very popular hotel there was a wedding and a birthday party on the Saturday we were there... The staff still nailed it... You didn't feel push to the side so they could deal with the other events... They still looked after the other hotel guests with care and professionalism. Only down side we had was the heat in the room... No radiator on - window open - fan on and still uncomfortably warm. And if the option arises chose a room with a bigger bed... They say doubles but in this day and age it should be king or super king for pure comfort.
Close to the center of town but not noisy or busy. An older building but seems well maintained, room was clean and a good size though the bathroom was really starting to show it's age. Dinner menu wasn't huge but I would think it had something for everyone. Service at dinner was good despite a large party in on an adjacent table. Would stay again.
Me and my son stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. My sister was having her 60th birthday party on the saturday. The events manager ( Nicole ) had made sure everything was set up for a fabulous night. And the staff on duty were excellent. Our room was spacious (54) and catered for all our needs. Breakfast was buffet service, and very good. Hotel had a very relaxed vibe about it. Would stay again, no problem. Thank you everybody for being part of a very enjoyable stay.
Great location, 5minute walk into town. The building is old so there was some heating issues in the room but this was easily rectified. The decor is slight dated but still the rooms were really comfy and clean. The highlight was the staff, everyone I met was so helpful, friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again.
I often travel here for work, and have always had a good experience. The hotel is very well located near the centre of Darlington. I recently had some issues with my trip and the staff were very helpful at sorting things out to deal with it.
Spent 2 nights recently leading up to Christmas. Reception friendly and booked in ok. The restaurant was full for the evening so ate in the centre of town which is only a 10 minute walk away. Breakfast is a buffet but was luke warm by the time we went down to eat. We had to book on the Saturday as the hotel was busy but the food was still lukewarm Room was comfortable and had a good nights sleep. The hotel itself could do with bit of tlc as there are spots of damp on various walls, maintenance needed ! Parking is ok but get there early to guarantee a place.
Joshua the manager I can not fault, went above and beyond to sort a minor issue out. He's so lovely he really is a credit to the hotel. Thank you Joshua (from "nothing to do with me!!") lol
